Curacao Travel Destinations like Den Paradera are a gem, off the beaten path of the popular tours. Amidst sparkling turquoise waters, this Dutch Caribbean Island is visibly north of Venezuela on a clear day. Also, it’s part of the island trilogy called the ABC’s, along with Bonaire and the more well known, Aruba. Previously, I wrote a blog on the Aloe Vera plantation in Curacao called Curaloe. My most recent discovery is the the herbal medicine garden of Dinah Veeris, ” Den Paradera.”
The name history of Dinah’s garden started by the Praguiri Indians. Originally, they started the biggest herbal garden on the island. Spaniards brought their slaves to the Indians and called the location En Paradera. The locals later changed the name to Den Paradera, meaning “the place where you feel at home.” With a dry micro-climate, the ABC’s produce unique species of many well-known herbs.
