Trudy Wendelin, Licensed Acupuncturist & World Traveler

True Wind Healing Travel is an award-winning wellness and travel blog.   My name is Trudy Wendelin, the author that works as a Spa Acupuncturist on cruise ships.  I have travelled to more than 100 countries and treated thousands of patients along the way.  Also, I volunteered for Acupuncture Relief Project in Nepal and Acupuncturists without Borders for U.S. War Veterans.  My lifestyle provides unique insights on wellness and travel that I share through the website and social media in blogs, photography and videos.

True Wind Healing Travel is termed from my name Trudy Wendelin. Also, True Wind is a navigational term, meaning the wind with a direction referenced to fixed earth.   Ultimately, my life has more joy and meaning by helping others find their True Wind for a healing journey. No matter how many foreign lands I explore, my roots (early years) in Iowa and Montana thankfully keep me down-to-earth. I grew to believe that life constantly gives signs for directions in life toward growth and happiness.

Seattle is my home port, since moving there in 1987.   After spending many years working in corporate America, I came to a crossroads. Here, I perceived 2 seemingly very different paths, from which to change my life: Acupuncture College or Travel/Writing.   I decided on the first, graduating from Pacific College of Health and Science, San Diego in 2010. Little did I know that later this path would support my other desired path to travel and write. Since 2010 I traveled on working vacations as an Acupuncturist-at-Sea on cruise ships for Oceania, Princess and Holland America Cruise Lines. Also, I volunteered for Acupuncture Relief Project in Nepal and Acupuncturists without Borders for U.S. Veterans.

I traveled to 107 countries…and True Wind Healing Travel is how I share my healing journey

After travelling like every day is my last for 13 years, I discovered my most meaningful travel happens, when I connect it to my other half as a Healing Facilitator and Travel Writer.  From a Taoist perspective, my outer traveler plays out my yang side, and the inner Healer/Writer the yin.   Overall, I love to transcribe (including Poems) and photograph all things healing about travel.

Overall, my aim for this site is to share all my writing and photos/videos about travel and wellness, exploring the dimensions of healing worldwide. This website is just beginning, with a visionary quest to expand a lot. Thus, I welcome all fellow travelers and wellness seekers to join me on this healing adventure.

Currently, I am back to a nomadic lifestyle of working vacations as an Acupuncturist-at-Sea. My international itineraries from June 2023 – February 2024 will be northern Europe, including Iceland and Greenland, then the rugged east coast Maritimes of Canada in September. The Grand Finale will be a 2-month journey, circumnavigating Africa with many exotic stops!

Additionally, poetry is another one of my greatest passions. I’m in the process of writing a collection of free verse Travel Poems for publication. My first published poems are on Amazon as ebook and paperback, “The Silver Chalice Sonnets.” For more information on myself as an author, see Amazon’s Author Central.
