About Brazil

As the largest country in South America, Brazil is known for its biodiversity. Actually, Brazil as a country has the highest biodiversity in the world. It has over 70% of all animals and plants documented. Its numerous ecosystems include the Amazon rainforest, Atlantic Forest, Araucaria moist forests and Cerrato. 60% of the Amazon rainforest lies in Brazil, sharing it mostly with Peru and Colombia. I included below the Brazil Travel Guides from my travels.

Brazil is the only country in Latin America with Portuguese as the official language. Brazil gained independence from Portugal in 1825, however, it still influences the culture in many ways. Besides the mainland, Brazil also includes oceanic archipelagos, such as, Rocas Atoll, Trindade and Martim Vaz, Fernando de Noronha and Saint Peter and Paul Rocks. Even though the climate of Brazil is mostly tropical, it has numerous subtypes, such as, subtropical, equatorial, desert, semiarid and oceanic.

Brasilia is the national capital city of Brazil. Perhaps, Brazil’s most famous and vibrant city is Rio de Janeira. This city is the most visited city in the southern hemisphere and known for its stunning coastlines and beaches, Samba and Carnival festivals. The Rio Carnival is the biggest carnival celebration in the world and held every year before Lent. Their parade is known as the “biggest show on Earth.”
